Welcome to Chrysella Community Spotlight! As a small business, we value the importance and integral part that small businesses play in our local community. We love our community, and this is our way of giving back. In the first of many short interviews, through our spotlight series we hope to share the stories of exceptional local businesses, business professionals, and members within our community.
Today Chrysella is shining a light on longtime friend of Chrysella and local Retail and Business banker, Mrs. Kelly Burmeister. Kelly enriches our local community through expert financial advice as well as a personable and positive attitude that makes everyone who crosses paths with her feel appreciated while dealing with the stresses of finances. Kelly was kind enough to join us for this interview, and we’re very excited to be introducing her to our Chrysella community.
- What is something you think people should know about your business/line of work?
Kelly describes her work as “very consultative, catering to each individual. ” Some people may feel that their bank sees them as just a number in their system as opposed to an actual person with their own personal needs. Kelly strives to make her clients feel like they matter as a unique individual whose needs are attentively being listened to. Through operating with the belief that there is never simply one solution for every person and building a strong personal rapport, Kelly strives to learn about her clients and understand their specific personal goals so she can help everyone with the undivided attention they deserve.
- What type of client are you looking to work with?
Kelly primarily looks to work with small business owners who have annual business revenues under $2 million. She describes her ideal client as “A person who values having a relationship with their banker and cares about growing their financial picture. Anyone looking to not just be a number.” Finding the right banker for you can be all the difference when it comes to handling your finances and making financial decisions. Someone who you are comfortable with and can trust is the first step to growing your finances responsibly and professionally. Small businesses now more than ever need keen and diligent bankers to work with them closely through these uncertain times, and Kelly Burmeister is just that.
- What is your favorite place in the community?
Kelly isn’t just a professional working in Woodbridge, but also a member of our community. When I asked Kelly what her favorite places to spend time in Woodbridge she replied “Town center is a fun place when it’s buzzing with people. The different activities and festivities were always fun, before COVID-19.” The Burmeister’s enjoy dining in the town center’s restaurants, and especially enjoy the concert events the center holds during the warmer months.
Besides the Potomac Town Center, the Burmeister’s also enjoy spending their time at the regions local parks, like the Neabsco Boardwalk, as well as at their home. Kelly is married to her wonderful husband Rob, and has 2 adult sons and a daughter. You’ll often see Kelly and her wonderful family spending time relaxing in their yard or at the beach.
- What’s a piece of advice you would give to an up and coming entrepreneur?
“Just remember to always focus on communication.” Communication is more important than ever in our virtual world, as it’s much too easy feel disconnected from the people we are communicating too via technology. She specified that communication in the professional world does not just mean public speaking, but also speaking from one professional to another. As someone who goes so above and beyond for delivering a personable experience for her clients, it’s no surprise Kelly highlighted communication as her focal point.
