RING SIZING: Whether your ring requires a full resizing, to be stretched, have a ring guard installed or sizing beads, Chrysella has the capability to service your every need. We are able to work on engagement rings, wedding bands, fashion rings, silver rings, and much more. Unlike traditional jewelry stores, Chrysella has imported state-of-the-art technology to repair your most precious jewelry. Our laser welder ensures a strong, durable repair that minimizes cosmetic changes in the appearance of your jewelry after repair.
Please note: Not all ring styles are eligible for ring sizing because of their design. We offer sizing beads as an option. Small metal beads set inside the ring is an alternative way to safely and comfortably size down some ring.
SHANK REPLACEMENT: The shank of a ring is also frequently referred to as the band. This is the region of the ring that wraps around your finger and connects on the two opposite sides of the head. Over time the natural wear and tear of daily use will thin out your shank, causing it to become more susceptible to breaking.
Re-shanking a ring is a simple repair that can add decades of life into your ring! We can reset all stones, including diamonds, precious, and semi-precious gems that are present in your rings old shank. Whether you want a new setting or a refreshed version of your favorite, we have different shanks to choose from, expanding the possibilities for your new look.
WELDING AND SOLDERING: Welding is the process of joining native metals together. Welds are typically stronger and more durable than a traditional solder. We typically choose to do any welding on our state-of-the-art Rofin Laser. Ask to see this modern marvel when you visit us!
Soldering is the process of fusing metals together by flowing “solder” typically made of the same material as your piece into the desired area. Both soldering and welding have their advantages and disadvantages. At Chrysella, our jewelers will explain to you whether a weld or solder is best for your piece.
PRONG RETIPPING: Prongs exist on the majority of all ring styles. They are the small areas of metal that wrap over the top of a gemstone that holds it into its place. As the tip of those prongs brush withstand everyday wear and tear, the metal that holds those gemstones in place wear down. Worn down tips make a gemstone at high risk of becoming loose and falling out.Think of prongs as tread on a tire, the more miles and rough conditions a tire experiences, the sooner you’ll need a new set of tires. Prongs work the same way!
This is easily avoided by re-tipping a prong, which is simply adding more metal onto the top of a prong. We can re-tip rings made of rose gold, yellow gold, white gold, and platinum.
HEAD REPLACEMENT: There are times a head is too severely damaged that a simple solder or retipping will not be enough. In these cases, we will replace the head of the ring and adjust the mounting to securely accommodate your new or existing stone. We can rebuild any style, including bypass settings, Cathedral engagement rings, three stone diamond rings, hidden halos, classic diamond halos, illusion diamond rings, and more.
RHODIUM PLATING: Do you remember the bright chrome-like color of your white gold ring the day you first put it on your finger? Relive that through a quick rhodium process! Rhodium is a very rare white colored precious metal that is electroplated onto all white gold jewelry.
This plating does fade over time, usually requiring a new rhodium plating every one to two years. Our Chrysella experts will sand down your ring and bring it to a high polish before we dip it in our state-of-the-art Legor, Italian made rhodium electroplating machine, bringing it to a lush white shine.
POLISHING: Polishing your jewelry is key to keeping it looking beautiful and new. We will buff out damage on your ring, making it smooth and shiny. Consisting of a three stage grit sanding process with the industries finest compounds and tools, your piece will boast a mirror shine. Whether you have a slim wedding band or a statement necklace, polishing your jewelry is an easy maintenance step to preserve the beauty and longevity of your piece. PEARL RESTRINGING: Over time, the silk cords that are used to string pearls weaken and stretch. If you wear your pearls everyday, we recommend restringing your pearls once a year. We can expertly restring your pearls on a brand new sturdy cord, beautifully knotting each pearl. Bring in any pearl strand bracelet or pearl strand necklace for evaluation. We can also drill and set a loose pearl back into its mounting.
